Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a chronic respiratory disease characterized by persistent airflow obstruction and is usually progressive. One type of breathing exercise that not many patients do is the Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT), which is combined with effective coughing. Community service aims to provide understanding to patients and families about how to improve respiratory function through ACBT techniques and effective coughing. The service method used is providing education about ACBT combined with effective coughing. Respondents in this activity were COPD patients and their families, totaling 60 people in the Jayanegara isolation room at Dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo, Mojokerto City. This activity stage includes: 1) ACBT education; 2) Measuring peak expiratory flow with a peak flow meter. Peak expiratory flow measurements were carried out twice, namely before and after ACBT and Effective Cough. The instrument used was a leaflet about ACBT and Effective Cough. Almost all participants, after doing the Active Cycle of Breathing Technique (ACBT) and Effective Coughing, were at peak expiratory flow in the green zone, which means they had good lung function. It is hoped that ACBT and effective coughing can be applied by COPD sufferers at home whose families can help to monitor the therapy.
