Green Village Movement Through the Distribution of Horticultural Plant Seeds in Bukit Meranti Village, Seberida Subdistrict, Indragiri Hulu Regency
Abstract
From a modern agribusiness perspective, the transformation of villages into “Green Villages” is not merely an ecological movement, but rather an effort to optimize upstream subsystems through the provision of quality agricultural inputs. The goal of this community service is to initiate the Green Village Movement through the distribution of horticultural seeds aimed at strengthening household economies. The methods used, namely situation analysis, socialization, and distribution of 1,000 seeds, have strategic value not only for reforestation but also as an effort to increase household food security. The results of the community service show a significant increase in community understanding, especially in the production of organic fertilizer, which reached a 142% increase. The success of this educational phase positively correlates with the survival rate of plants in the field (average 86.6%). The seminar served as a risk mitigation tool for novice farmers.
